rehome your cat
Space is always a limitation, please contact us ASAP if you think you may need to surrender your cat in the not too distant future. If we have room to accept your cat into our care, we ask that your bring the animal in a secured carrier. We also require any and all vet papers and documentation you have for your animal. Depending on the medical status and disposition of the cat(s) you are surrendering, we charge a give-up fee of $25-50 per cat. Please email us to discuss surrendering your cat(s).
We are nearly always at full capacity. We want to help every cat we can, but often times we are not able to meet the specific needs and care requirements of your particular cat. There may also be situations where coming into our care would be detrimental to the overall health and well-being of your cat.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, shelters/rescues have been inundated with requests for help. We are trying to establish our “new normal” while stretching our human and financial resources to help almost twice as many animals as we normally do. New Beginnings Animal Rescue is not animal control or a 24/7 emergency rescue. We do not go out to trap or pick up animals. We are an all-volunteer rescue that has a managed intake procedure.
When you are requesting assistance, please provide the following information:
If we can help, we will reply within 48 hours. If we can’t, we may try to offer alternatives or suggestions, but we are not able to respond to every email, or emails that simply state “I have a question, so please call me at this number.” Since there are only so many hours in a day, our focus is on helping the ones we can. Please be patient as we are working our way through many more emails, messages, fosters, animals – all while maintaining regular jobs and typical life events!
The best thing you can do to help is to take the animals in and put them in a spare bedroom/bathroom/etc., and keep them friendly by socializing/interacting with them. Do not let them around your resident animals. Rescues will be able to help friendly kitties, but it will take time for us to work them into our systems.
Unfortunately we cannot solve every problem or handle every situation. For the ones we can, we appreciate your support and your faith in our ability to help.

i found a litter of kittens
Before picking up a kitten, assess the situation using the CASA method, courtesy of the Kitten Lady. Consider these 4 factors: Condition, Age, Situation, and Ability.
Don't forget, where there are kittens, there are unsterilized breeding adults. Always look for rescues and resources to help get the adults and older kittens sterilized, or you'll be right back in this same situation a few weeks down the road.
Keep in mind that no two scenarios are alike. There are numerous lifesaving pathways depending on the kittens condition, age, situation and the abilities and resources at your disposal.
Not sure how old a kitten is, click here to view a guide.

- If the kitten(s) do indeed need placement, please use: adoptapet.com to search for shelters/rescues in your area to help. Please know that during the summer (aka "kitten season"), rescues are going to be full and it can be difficult to find a place to take them in. We're all doing the best we can with the resources we have; there are a lot of rescues out there, so be persistent and don't give up.
I found a stray cat/dog
If you have found a lost dog or cat, contact your local non-emergency police about the animal and where to take him/her. The best chance of reuniting a lost pet and their owner is through your local animal control services.
rehome your dog
We are a cat rescue, and do not have the resources to take dogs into our care. If you need to surrender your dog, we suggest searching on adoptapet.com for shelters/rescues in the area that would be able to help you. You can also use rehome.adoptapet.com to find an adopter for your dog.
